Berlin-based Retresco was announced as a winner at the 2017 United Nations World Summit Awards (WSA) for digital innovation. In front of UN representatives, ICT ministries and the private sector Retresco will receive its award in the “Business & Commerce” category at the World Summit Global Congress in Vienna.
Retresco was recognised in the “Business & Commerce” category, highlighting the following features:
rtr textengine is a Natural Language Generation platform, designed for non-developers. This makes it easy to scale data-driven content such as management reports, product descriptions and editorials. Artificial Intelligence (AI) automates the process of creating content that follows a publisher’s style and tone of voice. Now, the media media, e-commerce workers and agencies can enhance editing processes for data-heavy articles.
The TMS, acronym for Topic Management System, is a dynamic content curation and recommendation software by Retresco. Publishers are empowered to deliver content that is customised by reader preference, moving away from traditional newspaper terminology. Publishers can now attract more search traffic by adapting to current content trends. Readers are more engaged too, reflected by an increase in recency, frequency, and volume of digital news consumption.
Now in its fifteenth year, the WSA selects and promotes the world’s best digital and most innovative applications with transformative impact on society. It is organised by the United Nations’ World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). In 2017, the jury had to choose from almost 400 submissions and selected 40 WSA winners.
